Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Yakovich.
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have worked at this shop since 1997, both as Manager and Lead Technician.
In 2018 I purchased it , changed the name , got away from corporate influences and started doing things my way, including paying employees differently , treating customers in a better way and also hiring different employees to help me achieve my goals .
We have gradually increased our revenue and customer base, based on honesty, hard work and and effort to do things as best as we possibly can,
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Covid 19 was a very scary time ,we had barely been open a year, and things looked dismal, we sat and stared at each other for about a month before we actually had and business.
Even then we sanitized keys, wore masks and wiped down the counter and pens after every customer.
At times it was almost too much to handle but we got through it and are currently doing amazingly well.
Finding the right employees , as with everyone , has been a challenge ; I worked with one other person for 5 months just the two of us 6 days a week !
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been repairing and customizing cars for over 40 years, we do all sorts of vehicle repairs here ,brakes, tune ups , drivability issues and diagnostics.
We are known here for doing some very cool hot rods and vehicle modifications !
We have great Google reviews and we try not just to make customers but also life long friends !
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Be patient , learn as much as you can, find a good mentor , someone who will show you the ropes !
In this industry you cannot learn everything from a book , it takes hands on knowledge and experience to truly succeed .
