Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Perkins-Hatch
Hi Savannah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My parents say I sang before I could talk. Music has always been a part of who I am, but over the years I’ve put a lot of dedicated time into developing my singing. I sang in musicals as a girl, in college choirs, and even majored in vocal performance for a little while. I took private voice lessons and have been a voice teacher. No matter where I go, I always turn back to music and I finally decided I wanted to share my passion for singing on social media. Subsequently, I also decided to start creating other content on social media pages, such as product reviews for skincare, makeup, and hair care! (I have always loved makeup and all things beauty since I was a little girl and used to love watching influencers share reviews).
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has not been an easy one. I have put in hours each day practicing for music content and making videos for beauty content in addition to all of my other responsibilities such as finishing my undergrad at BYU and applying for graduate school. There have been many times I have wanted to quit. I have to remind myself almost every day that I started this because I love music, and I don’t want to give up on my dream of sharing my music and creative content with the world.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a singer/content creator! I started my social media journey with the intention to share my love of singing and music with the world, and then I realized how much I enjoy making beauty content too. I have a music instagram page where I share covers of songs as well as original songs (hopefully) in the future! I like to sing pop songs, movie soundtrack songs, musicals, and I also have an instagram page dedicated to product reviews and beauty secrets. My TikTok is a mix of music and beauty content! I am most proud of my cover of “Defying Gravity” on Instagram & TikTok! I think I am different from most other musicians and creators because I also play the piano, guitar, viola, and several other musical instruments. Connecting deeply with other people is important to me, and I believe music is a universal language that can touch people’s hearts in a way that nothing else can.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I am a very determined and passionate person. When I enjoy something, I don’t give up on it. For my music and my content creation on social media, this is what has helped me continue moving forward even when I don’t see progress or recognition as quickly as I had hoped!
