Rising Stars: Meet Scott Jones of Ogden, Utah

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Jones.

Scott, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Bliv was born from a deeply personal mission. After losing their father to a stroke in his 40s, founders Paige and Scott committed themselves to driving a nationwide lifestyle shift toward better health.

Scott brings over two decades of experience in hospital and clinic administration, software development, and management consulting, giving him a unique perspective on the complexities of U.S. healthcare. Paige, an advanced practice nurse, has cared for patients through every stage of their health journey, developing a deep understanding of the patient experience.

Together, they’ve seen firsthand how our healthcare system often incentivizes treatment over prevention—despite the fact that four in ten American adults have obesity, a number that continues to rise. Determined to change this, they created Bliv: a science-based program that combines medicine with lifestyle transformation to prevent and reverse obesity.

Inspired by the ancient Danish word bliv, meaning “to become,” their mission is to help every individual become their healthiest, happiest self.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. We bootstrapped Bliv from the ground up, funding everything ourselves. That meant building a national provider network, sourcing medication, and creating the technology infrastructure to manage telemedicine patients across the country. We had to get licensed in every state, develop a comprehensive GLP-1 weight management program, and build a customer service team capable of supporting thousands of patients nationwide. Every step came with its own learning curve, but each challenge ultimately shaped the strong, scalable foundation we have today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Bliv, I serve as Co-Founder and CEO, where we specialize in science-based GLP-1 weight management programs designed to prevent and reverse obesity through a combination of medicine and lifestyle transformation. My work draws on more than 15 years of experience in healthcare analytics, product development, and business leadership, spanning roles at organizations like FinThrive, Health Catalyst, Leavitt Partners, and Mayo Clinic.

I’m known for building scalable healthcare solutions that blend data analytics, technology, and patient-centered design to improve outcomes for both patients and providers. Over the years, I’ve led multi-million-dollar P&L operations, developed enterprise-grade analytics platforms, and built strong national provider networks.

I’m most proud of taking Bliv from an idea to a nationwide telehealth company—completely bootstrapped—while maintaining a relentless focus on quality, innovation, and patient experience.

What sets me apart is my ability to bridge the gap between the business and clinical sides of healthcare. I understand the complexities of U.S. healthcare systems, but I also know how to translate that into products, services, and operational models that genuinely help people live healthier, happier lives.
