Ty Brady of Salt Lake City on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ty Brady. Check out our conversation below.

Ty, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Moments with people who matter. Being outdoors. Slowing life down long enough to appreciate the simple things — family time, good conversations, fresh air, and anything that makes the world feel a little lighter.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Ty Brady is a man defined less by titles and more by the way he shows up. He’s someone who believes in working hard, being dependable, and treating people with respect — whether it’s at work, in the community, or in everyday life.

He’s the type of person who pays attention, who listens, who remembers the small things that matter to people. He values honesty, loyalty, and effort — not perfection, just consistency.

Outside of the grind, Ty is grounded by the things that keep him human: time with good people, being outdoors, staying connected to his roots, and finding meaning in the simple moments most people walk past. He’s driven, but he’s not driven only by success — he’s driven by purpose, growth, and the belief that showing up for others is the real measure of character.

He’s not loud about who he is — he lets his actions speak.
He’s steady, real, and always trying to leave people and places better than he found them.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
“I learned my work ethic from my parent. Their sacrifices, their grind, and the way they carried themselves every day shaped who I am and how I show up.”

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me things success never even touched.
It taught me patience when life didn’t move at my pace.
It taught me humility when I realized I wasn’t in control.
It taught me resilience — the kind you only earn by getting knocked down and choosing to rise again.
It taught me empathy, because once you’ve been in the dark, you understand others who are still there.
It taught me clarity, stripping away what doesn’t matter so I could see what truly does.
It taught me gratitude for even the smallest wins.

Success might celebrate me.
But suffering shaped me.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
1. “We’re always on your side.”
They’re businesses first.

2. “Your rate is only based on your risk.”
Industry losses and inflation raise prices too.

3. “Filing a claim won’t affect anything.”
Almost every claim leaves a footprint.

4. “You’re fully covered.”
Most people find the gaps after it’s too late.

5. “Just trust the policy.”
If you don’t review it, you’re probably underinsured.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feels the most peace when life slows down in quiet moments, with loved ones, or surrounded by nature.”
