Today we’d like to introduce you to Jourdan Biesinger.
Hi Jourdan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The story of Adrenaline Murals began in 2016 with a Mother’s Day gift. “Mom, you don’t use your artistic talent enough, so I signed us up as artists at the annual Chalk Art Festival downtown! It’ll be a fun way to spend time together.” We recruited a couple of talented relatives to join us and Team Chalk’N’Awe was born. We chalked up big masterpieces every summer for five years.
In 2021, I remarried and was in a position to work less at my sales job and start a business. A realtor friend from Orlando knew I could do large scale art and said, “You would make a killing painting murals down here!” That was the first time I’d heard that not all artists were the ‘starving’ kind. Two weeks later, I launched Adrenaline Murals.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our first big client was Utah Motorsports Campus. My chalk team was ready to help. In the beginning, I priced everything all wrong. After supplies, driving two hours round trip to Tooele in a gas-guzzling van, and paying everyone, I think I made $90 for 10 hours of hard work in the July sun (before taxes).
I was completely overwhelmed at first and even embarrassed myself with some of the early mistakes. One client cried and a dream client ghosted me! I knew I had to learn more fast. I read business book after business book and listened to podcasts and bought mentorship courses and training. I obtained a General Contractor’s license for the painting business and structured the team as employees with the right paperwork, insurance, and aerial lift certifications. We got uniforms. I learned about leadership and accounting and marketing and SOP’s and software and branding and how to create an incredible client experience. They were all much needed improvements.
Thank goodness the artists who choose to work with me then and now all have incredible rockstar attitudes and a sense of humor! We have a team joke that it’s not a normal day on the job unless something unexpected comes up that costs us at least $100 and an extra hour to fix.

We’ve been in the mural art business for almost 5 years now and things run pretty smoothly. Our mural clients now include Amazon, Adobe, Edison House, BYU, Walmart, Young Automotive Group, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hill Air Force Base, SirQ Construction, and several other commercial clients! We’ve been honored to receive Utah’s Best of State award for three consecutive years in mural painting.
Most mural artists have a signature art style – like Banksy’s graffiti for example. One thing that makes Adrenaline Murals unique is that we design custom on-brand art for our clients. We want to bring life to YOUR brand’s style and YOUR artistic vision. We have a discovery and revision process to co-create each mural concept with your team and we don’t settle until everyone is thrilled.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The mural industry outlook is very sunny but with no paved roads, just dusty trails. It’s an extremely fragmented, tiny niche industry which is both a blessing and a curse. The advantage is that the marketing competition isn’t as intense as it would be for a landscaper for example. The disadvantage is that there are virtually no industry benchmarks to learn from, so everyone who makes it really has to have a trailblazing spirit!
It’s an exciting time to be a mural artist. Both supply and demand are increasing everywhere. Businesses love attention and people love to sight-see! It’s fun having a company that helps businesses thrive through art.

- We offer free on-site estimates. Most murals with us fall between $10-25/sqft. It’s smart to start the process about 6 weeks before you want painting to start if you can. The earlier the better!
