Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Doyle.
Hi Sarah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I began learning the basics of portrait photography in 2013 as a senior in high school.
Originally, photography was a hobby that allowed me to express my creativity, but over time, it grown into a way for me to capture emotion while creating a work of art. I fell in love with wedding photography while planning my own wedding in 2017, and in 2019, I decided to turn my love of photography into a business.
Every couple deserves beautiful photos on their wedding day. Wedding photography allows me to create a masterpiece as I capture all of the laughter, joy, and love that make up your story.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Perhaps the biggest challenge for any photographer is finding their “people”—the clients who align with their style and vision.
It’s taken me a few years to establish the values that are most important to me and my business, but ultimately, my favorite couples are the ones who are just as excited as I am for their wedding day. They recognize the importance of the commitment they’re making, and they want to invest in beautiful images that will allow them to relive the emotions and love they felt during their wedding.
As a photographer, it can sometimes be difficult when not every couple is drawn to my style or the services I have to offer. But the beauty of photography is that there are so many options.
As much as I sometimes wish I could photograph every couple’s wedding, I know that’s just not possible. If I’m not the right fit, I can recommend another wildly talented photographer who will have the opportunity to bless the couple and become the perfect fit for them.
And when I find that gem of a couple who falls in love with my personality and style and whose vision aligns with mine, it makes me giddy to know that I’ll be able to serve them and celebrate with them on their special day.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The first thing that people usually notice about a wedding photographer is their photos. (I mean, duh! That’s why people hire them, right?)
But when you hire a wedding photographer, you aren’t just paying for the creativity and expertise that goes into creating the perfect photo. You’re also paying for an unforgettable experience. You’ll spend more time with your wedding photographer than almost any other person on your wedding day (including your partner). So it’s important that you and your photographer are compatible personality-wise and that you’re excited about the experience they have to offer.
Now, don’t get me wrong. The photos are definitely important. But for me, it isn’t enough to deliver beautiful photos. I want your wedding to be a joyous occasion filled with laughter and love so that when you look back on your photos, you remember the emotions you felt as you married your best friend.
For every wedding I photograph, I spend months beforehand creating the perfect timeline, learning the names of your family members and close friends, discussing which moments are most important to you on your wedding day, and developing a game plan. That way, when the wedding day rolls around, I can take charge and guide you through the process, allowing you to truly experience and relish your wedding day.
After all, you’re getting married! This experience is supposed to be fun and memorable.
So let me do the legwork while you relax and enjoy this special day with the love of your life.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is dominating a lot of industries right now, and I’m excited to see how it will change the photography industry in the coming years.
I think a common worry in many industries is that AI will replace the current industry experts. While that’s definitely a possibility, I find that AI enhances my experience as a photographer rather than replacing it.
There are dozens of AI tools available that can help me accomplish a variety of tasks—from creating social media posts to editing photos. But I’m still in charge of making sure the tools accomplish what I need them to do.
Ultimately, AI has led to a lot of really helpful programs that allow me to save time and enhance my clients’ experience, and I’m all for it!
