Today we’d like to introduce you to Cayla Naylor.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always loved art. As a kid, it was simply something I enjoyed, never something I imagined could become part of my life in a meaningful or sustainable way. I went on to study Civil Engineering and worked as an engineer for several years. It was practical, stable—and very far from art.
My great Aunt Laura was the one person who always believed in my creativity. She constantly encouraged me to do more with my art, even when I didn’t quite know what that “more” looked like yet.
When I became a mom, I struggled with actively choosing things just for myself. In the midst of motherhood, I decided to take a digital art course—almost on a whim—and it completely changed everything. It opened my eyes to a whole new world. Creating became a part of my daily life, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I had found a missing piece of myself again.
I began designing seamless patterns and spent years refining my craft. Eventually, I felt called to do something bigger—to combine my love of art, children, and giving back. That’s when Little Laura Lane was born.
The name “Laura” is a tribute to my great aunt—the first and only person who truly believed in my art before I believed in it myself. Little Laura Lane is a baby pajama company creating hand-drawn, high-quality bamboo pajamas designed to last up to three times longer than traditional pajamas. But at its core, this brand is about so much more than pajamas.
Every purchase gives back to families facing financial or medical hardship. My mission is simple but deeply personal: to bring comfort, love, and a sense of being seen to children and families who need it most.
One of my biggest dreams is to collaborate directly with kids to create their own pajama designs, with all proceeds going to support their families. Right now, we’re working on a very special collaboration with a little boy named Luca, who is battling cancer. Together with his mom, we designed an adorable print inspired by the things Luca loves most—a project that perfectly captures the heart of Little Laura Lane.
I see an incredible future for this brand: collaborating with children in need, partnering with businesses that want to make a real impact, working with authors who want to tell meaningful stories, and supporting nonprofits who share a vision of love, comfort, and connection. Little Laura Lane is truly where art, purpose, and heart come together—and this is just the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—there have been plenty of challenges along the way! One of the biggest has been manufacturing. There have been issues like receiving the wrong fabric type, colors not coming out as expected, and sometimes slow communication with manufacturers. Every step has required patience, problem-solving, and a little bit of creative improvisation.
Another challenge has been the sheer pace of building this all on my own. I’ve created my website, managed my socials, taken all the photos, drawn all the patterns, and handled everything from design to production. It’s been a slow process, but every step has taught me so much and made the journey incredibly rewarding.
Even with the challenges, there’s a lot of excitement in seeing an idea turn into something tangible—something that can bring comfort and joy to kids and families. Those little victories make all the hurdles feel worth it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in surface pattern design, which means I create repeating patterns that can be used across all kinds of products. I’ve been fortunate to work as a fabric designer for Riley Blake and several other amazing companies, and my designs have also appeared on wallpaper, murals, journal and planner covers, blankets, and more.
All of that experience has naturally flowed into my work with Little Laura Lane, where I design hand-drawn baby pajamas with both moms and babies in mind. What really sets us apart is the thought and care behind each design, plus our use of thicker, high-quality ribbed bamboo fabric that lasts longer and feels luxurious.
I’m especially proud of creating a brand that combines art, comfort, and giving back. Every piece has a purpose: to bring joy and comfort to children while supporting families in need. It’s that combination of creativity, quality, and heart that makes what we do truly unique.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Growing up as a dancer, my dad used to tell me that confidence was the key to success—and I truly believe that. But over time, I’ve realized it’s more than just confidence. It’s about believing in yourself and having the determination to hold onto that belief no matter what. It’s knowing that what you’re doing is for a greater vision, a bigger purpose, a mission to make a difference and leave a mark on the world.
Of course, that’s easier said than done, especially when the road is long or the challenges feel overwhelming. But giving up isn’t an option when you truly hold onto your vision. That combination of belief and determination—that unwavering commitment to your purpose—is what makes anyone unstoppable.
If you are starting out on your entrepreneurship journey, or have lost the passion, I encourage you to go back to those early days, to the vision you had blossoming in your mind, and to hold onto it with everything you have. It’s not lost. And neither are you. You never know the impact you’ll have or the difference you’ll make—but it starts with believing you can.
