Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Pack.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When my husband and I married 9 years ago, I was going to College at Weber State University and focused in the Medical Field. I had been completely focused on that career path since High School and never looked elsewhere. However, when I had a Costco Camera Kit in hand, my husband encouraged me to take a couple classes with a local photographer nearby to learn how to work it.
I quickly fell in love. I wanted to pursue it, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to go full steam ahead quite yet. After practicing on my friends and family who were so nice to model for me, I decided to make the leap. I quit my job at the hospital, continued my education and study and tried to become a vacuum and consume all the information I could about cameras and light!
After a 2 years I started to get into weddings. My husband was going to College for Sports Journalism and Broadcasting, where they started teaching him about video and editing. He came along to a wedding and offered to do a wedding basically free just for fun… and it has exploded from there. We love to work together, and we love to do weddings!
For the most part, weddings are our focus. I always do families, and every once and a while I will accept a commercial branding client.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
yes and no, it’s stressful in the beginning to find your niche, coloring, and shooting style. But that’s also part of the fun!
After you get rolling… Your people find you! We have made some of our best friends in this business!
It can always be hard to compare yourself to others in the industry, but if you genuinely love your work, others will too!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
we are a husband and wife photo and video duo! We love working together, and thrive off of each other‘s creativity! We can kind of read each other‘s mind when the other needs a certain shot and we just try and make it as fun of an experience possible!
Our style is timeless, classic, elegant, and true to color.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I have happy memories as a child. I have four older brothers, and one little sister. I loved everything to do with music, Dancing, princesses… Everything girly! That hasn’t changed much. I guess I always had in the back of my mind that I liked photography.. Because in junior high, I convinced my friend and my sister to model around our backyard and my grandma‘s house. The pictures are pretty hilarious, but a fun memory to look back on!
