Hidden Gems: Meet Amanda Odgers of Made for More Retreats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Odgers.

Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For about 10 years, I have been involved in retreats – wellness, spiritual, & fitness. I’ve seen the impact that these have had on their participants and the power a weekend (or day) can have in changing someone’s outlook on life.

Years ago, a retreat did this for me and I have been enamored with them ever since.

Over the years, I have had a hand in the creation and implementation of many events/retreats and have attended several yearly myself. I have seen what has made each successful and have learned from what certain ones have lacked.

There is one common denominator between retreats that I’ve seen. It is a promise to be an experience like no other, a true life-changer. However, all retreats seem to also lack the same thing – an ability to connect & hold participants accountable to their experience once they return to their communities.

That is where Made for More Retreats was born. I created this retreat company to hold retreat weekends unlike those preceding it. Every weekend retreat will focus on helping others grow in mind, body, and spirit while giving them the tangible steps to integrate points of growth back home.

It will combine small group discussion, challenging activities, nature, and wellness (breathwork, mindset coaching, & light workouts) to help retreatants tap into their true potential NOW – not years from now. This company is based on the reality that we only have the present moment, and strives to help others realize that there is a difference between living and just being alive.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With every new endeavor in life, you will ultimately experience challenges. It has in no way been different starting Made for More Retreats.

There have been struggles along the way with defining the number of projected attendees, pricing the upcoming event correctly, selecting the right venues & sponsorships, and above all making sure the logistics make sense.

Along the way, while there have been many tough challenges so far, one thing that has stood strong has been our leadership team. Everyone has a role and has upheld and done the best they possibly could in their roles which has made all challenges much easier.

I can’t say we won’t continue to struggle along the way, but we are definitely on the smooth road now, just focused on promoting and sharing the love of this event and those to come with the world!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Made for More Retreats?
We are a retreat company focused on helping others find their purpose for being here in this world. We focus on bridging the gap between where people are now and where they want to be in 5 years by focusing on the present moment.

We help clients grow where their feet are right now, and start to take advantage of the opportunities right in front of their eyes that maybe they did not originally see.

We combine practices of gratitude, self-love, and healing with breathwork practices, mindset coaching, meditation, small group discussion (emphasizing the power of community), light workouts & yoga, travel, growth activities, and more in each of our events.

Each of our leaders specializes in one of these areas, offering 1-on-1 continued support during and after the retreat to help participants carry out what is discovered throughout the retreat.

Our leadership team consists of Breathwork Coaches, Yoga Instructors, Personal and Group Fitness Trainers, Mindset Coaches, Self-Love Coaches, Life Coaches, World Travelers, and more, each offering their unique take on why they and you are “Made for More” in this life.

What sets us apart from other retreats is the combination of community internally and externally in the retreat. Not to mention the numerous amount of surprises that our participants will experience along their journey with us.

Most importantly though, I developed this retreat company out of pure unconditional love for others, because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to not know your true potential or purpose in this world. I know what it’s like to not want to be here. And if I can help just one person realize the beauty that this world has to offer them, then my purpose will be fulfilled.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The best part of Virgin, Utah is by far the nature & scenery. There’s truly nothing like the mountains, sunsets, and stars.

I would say there are not many complaints about the city other than the lack of restaurants present close by.

However, for me, this isn’t too much of a lack as I love to cook and eat from home.

Pricing:

  • Depending on the room selected, the retreat costs anywhere from $1100 to $2500 for the weekend. Bring friends, and get a discounted price!
