Inspiring Conversations with Daisy Clark of Red Canyon Lodge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Clark.

Hi Daisy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
A beautiful, historic lodge nestled in the high Uinta mountains at Flaming Gorge. First established as a hunting and fishing resort in the 1930’s, our property now boasts 21 guest cabins, a full service restaurant, private events and celebrations in our A-Frame lodge banquet room, and more!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Historic means, Rustic! Think, leaky pipes, rotten foundations, and more surprises (including animals!) along the way. Restoring buildings to their former glory, adding modern amenities while keeping al the character.

As you know, we’re big fans of Red Canyon Lodge. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Historic and Premier lodging at remote Flaming Gorge. Usually a destination for all things outdoors – Red Canyon brings the spoils of epic fishing, hiking, and more, while adding the cozy comfort of staying in a furnished cabin. Our seasonal restaurant has made quite the reputation for itself – for flavorful and exciting, home cooked specialities while enjoying the stunning view from our lodge path. Our cabin guests enjoy modern amenities like kitchenette’s, remodeled bathrooms, wood-burning stoves, and end the day with your private porches overlooking our Green’s Lake. Stocked annually – this fishing body has huge rainbow trout, along with the feisty Tiger Trout and flashy Brook Trout.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Chasing sunsets on adventures with my family!
