Inspiring Conversations with Kristin Collins of Marketing Autopilot AI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Collins.

Hi Kristin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Seven years ago, during my first semester of college, I went through an experience that completely destabilized me. It was the kind of event that shakes your sense of safety, confidence, and direction all at once. For a long time afterward, I felt scared, isolated, and unsure of myself. I didn’t trust my instincts, and I didn’t feel like I had a voice.

Not long after, I learned that the same person connected to that period of my life was entering a business competition they had won year after year. Something shifted in me. I didn’t enter because I thought I would beat them. I entered because I needed to prove to myself that I could still stand up, still build, still take up space, even if it meant failing publicly.

I had no idea what I was doing. I was inexperienced, uncomfortable, and very aware that I might look foolish. But I worked relentlessly. I invented a product, secured a provisional patent, pitched it anyway, and placed in the top three. That moment didn’t erase what I’d been through, but it gave me something critical back: agency.

That experience taught me a principle that has guided every step since, growth requires a willingness to start even when you don’t feel ready. Every time you risk looking inexperienced or out of place in pursuit of getting better, you build real strength. Mastery only comes after you’re willing to be a beginner in public.

Since then, I’ve pursued multiple business ventures. Many didn’t work. Some did. But all of them mattered. Each attempt forced me to take risks before I felt ready, to learn by doing, and to move forward without guarantees. You don’t need a thousand ideas to succeed, you need one that works, built on everything the others taught you. Failure lays the groundwork to build.

From there, I worked in sales at a Fortune 50 company, then moved into marketing services where I managed marketing for over 300 locations. That’s where the pattern became clear. No matter the industry or budget, business owners were overwhelmed by marketing. It consumed their time, energy, and confidence, the same things I once felt stripped of.

That realization led me to build Marketing Autopilot.

Marketing Autopilot is designed to remove unnecessary friction for business owners by automating core marketing functions like SEO, paid ads, email marketing, and social content. Business owners answer a few questions, and the system handles the rest, giving them back time, clarity, and momentum.

Building a business isn’t just about strategy; it’s about resilience. Much of my journey has been about rebuilding confidence by taking risks that felt uncomfortable and visible. Marketing Autopilot is the result of that process, creating something that helps others move forward without carrying unnecessary weight alone.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. The road has been anything but smooth. There have been long days, late nights, moments of burnout, stress, tears, anxiety, you name it. I’ve dealt with seasons of feeling overwhelmed, second-guessing myself, and wondering if any of it would pay off. And to be completely honest, I’m still in parts of that stage. Building something meaningful doesn’t suddenly get “easy,” but your expectations change. You learn to be easier on yourself, and every win becomes a shot of dopamine.

Uncomfortable chapters are what force you to grow. They teach resilience, discipline, gratitude and humility. They make you appreciate every step forward because you know how much it cost to get there. And I think that’s the part people don’t talk about enough: the struggle is what shapes you into someone capable of carrying the success you’re working for.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Marketing Autopilot is a marketing automation software built for busy business owners who don’t have the time, or the desire, to spend hours every week juggling marketing tasks. We streamline everything: content creation, SEO, posting, reporting, and core marketing workflows that normally eat up hundreds of hours a year and put it on autopilot.

What we’re known for being very beginner friendly. Most tools make marketing even more complicated. Ours does the opposite. Business owners get one platform where their marketing actually runs itself. We didn’t want to build a tool that would require a background in marketing to understand or just another piece of a massive puzzle. We wanted to solve ALL the marketing challenges in one place.

What sets us apart is that this isn’t just another AI content generator or a one-off tool. As a small business owner myself, I am sick and tired of needing 100 tools to do a few basic things and they are all overpriced. We’ve designed a full ecosystem to give entrepreneurs the same level of consistency and efficiency that big companies get, without the big team or big budget. Everything is automated, strategic, and built to help people grow in a sustainable, realistic way.

I’m most proud that we’re solving a real problem. Marketing is exhausting. It’s expensive. It’s constantly changing. And business owners already have a hundred responsibilities on their plate. Giving people back their time and their peace of mind is the heart of what we do.

What I want readers to know is simple: Marketing Autopilot exists to make your life as a business owner easier. If you’re tired of feeling behind, stretched thin, or unsure where to focus, this platform was built for you. You don’t need to be a marketer to market your business, you just need the right system backing you.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was kind of all over the place. At school, I was shy and quiet. I cared about grades even though I hated being there. At home, I was loud, bossy, and loved making my family laugh, probably the classic youngest-of-four energy. I loved Legos, Pokémon cards, my DS, and shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender. I spent hours creating and playing.

Looking back I can see glimpses into my entrepreneurial side. When I was nine, I started my first “business” selling crochet chains at school. I could only make one row, so I sold bracelets, necklaces, anklets…whatever I could figure out. I even kept a little notebook to track my customers, my first attempt at bookkeeping, I guess.

At fourteen, I started teaching piano lessons to kids in my church. At sixteen, I got my first real job in an after-school program. From there, I just kept working and trying things. I liked being responsible, making my own money, and the feeling that I was moving towards something bigger.

Through it all, my family has been everything. They’ve always been supportive and loving, and I truly think I won the family lottery, especially now, getting to work with my dad as a business partner on this venture is a blessing. I am incredibly grateful for the foundation they built for me.
