Life & Work with Liv Baron of West Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liv Baron.

Hi Liv, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a child I’ve always been a creator of sorts. From using a variety of art media and materials to now making my own home decor etc. I’ve done just about every art medium there is & continuously challenge myself in this field by finding new creations to try. Doing anything creative really brings me into a meditative flow state, a safe space where I can breathe, relax & have a creative outlet without judgment. I love having a unique & creative mind unlike anyone else’s where I see things in a way that others don’t. Having the opportunity and ability to share my art & creations with the world is a dream.
From one creative genius to another- I hope to inspire those around me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been easy finding a new creative outlet to try or continuing to create with the same art mediums & methods.
My biggest challenge that I face occasionally is having the motivation to finish projects, losing interest randomly in certain art genera’s, paying attention to when I’m being a perfectionist & not having the creative spirit at times. My ADHD plays a huge role in this, but I move forward past the struggles & find ways to get back into my rhythm again !

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I used to sell my crafty items online including jewelry. I lost interest in my craft until I stopped selling my items. That’s when I found my niche ! Now I make a variety of homemade pieces & items for myself & as gifts for my loved ones. I am currently very passionate in decorating & making decor for my space & others. I love combining different materials to make a piece of art. Painting & DIY projects are what my current obsessions are. I like to think that I have a very different creative perspective and mindset than other creators out there. I continue to have a drive to learn & try different types of art varieties & genera’s & build new skills to create for myself & others! I don’t like to stick to one particular style or genera of art & that there is what sets me apart. It is something that I am proud of.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Having an open mind to different perceptions & perspectives on your art pieces is huge for getting better with your work. Take in the criticism even if it doesn’t please you, it’ll make you a better artist. I had to learn that the hard way. But with that struggle I found that when I listened to others opinions I found my own way of looking through others opened lenses without taking my own view & creativity out of it. That really helped me with my understanding & vision of what I want to make & achieve as an artist. As I took in other peoples views & looked at other artists work & found my own perspective in theirs. I made a new approach & my own different style of art with it. I love & continue to learn new approaches to different artists respective & styles !
