Today we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Rasmussen. He and his team share their story with us below:
Homestead Hands was founded by Ethan Rasmussen: a 1st generation producer and a 4th generation entrepreneur. He explained “We believe in dreaming big, accomplishing our dreams, and helping our clients do the same.”
The inspiration behind Homestead Hands sprouted as Ethan trailed his horse behind hundreds of cows on the Arizona strip- long before this company was even an idea. He wasn’t raised with an agricultural background, but around in 2013 he got his first taste of quality agricultural production and was permanently hooked. The next 4 years fixing fences and branding cattle, he learned what it meant to be a producer focused on high-quality food products. He witnessed the passion within individuals who are focused on providing good food for the world.
He wanted to live that passion himself, and wanted to give others the chance to live it too. It became his goal to provide a way for anyone with the desire to produce high-quality food to find success. He knew he wasn’t the only one who was ready to begin a new lifestyle that focuses on self-reliance, hard work, and quality products.
A few years later Homestead Hands was founded in 2021 with the principle purpose to “Help people provide for themselves and provide for those around them.” As Ethan explains “We began by simply providing labor to help individuals maintain their farms and homesteads. However, we slowly grew into a team of consultants who specialize in soil science, horticulture, agricultural design, and small animal production. Corey and Stephanie Hancey were the first people to join Homestead Hands after years of natural systems management on many properties on the west coast. Each individual who has joined the Homestead Hands team has a passion to help others succeed and a love of agriculture. We reached out to friends, family, and neighbors who could potentially use our services and began what we set out to do!
Since that beginning, we hope to create a network of hard-working people who desire better health and function of their lives, their community, their land, and the people around them. We focus on the individual nature of each homestead spanning (from backyard gardens to full-time farms)- every person, and every acre is unique and therefore deserves unique attention. Our goal is to help you be as successful as possible in your pursuit of developing greater independence, self-reliance, and security.”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road throughout this process. One of the hardest parts of getting started was finding like-minded people who could work with us to help people succeed. We are so grateful for people like Corey and Stephanie and their willingness to be a part of this endeavor. We take great responsibility for providing correct information to help individuals begin their farms or ranches, so it took a lot of searching to find people who were ready and able to join the Homestead Hands team. We are continuing to build out our team with even more qualified individuals to help us create successful plans for future homesteads.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
