Today we’d like to introduce you to Young Raze. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Samuel A. Torres who also goes by the name of “Young Raze”, started off writing at the age of 9, which blossomed into positive Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B. Growing up in the Lower East Side, New York City it was not easy for him. Young Raze struggled, however, he kept his focus toward his dream which made him the person he is today. His influences in the music industry are Biggie, 2Pac, Nas, Jay-Z, Big Pun, and Fabolous. These major artists helped Young Raze develop a bright, strategic way of understanding the culture and talent behind the music. Which gave him more strength and motivation for his dream. His goal is to become one of the most creative and unique artists known worldwide. So far he has gained relationships with platinum producers and platinum artists that are hot in the industry. He has helped in a couple of projects with talented well-known artists such as Chinx Drugs, French Montana, Bruck Up, and Neo Da Matrix. In 2010 he opened up for Foxy Brown at BB Kings in Times Square, New York City. In 2012 Young Raze created his own label called SBA Nation.
Young Raze has worked on several projects. One of his singles includes his hit song, Live It Up, which landed him a feature in Coast 2 Coast magazine issues 32 and 51 and his single was aired on 95.1FM for two weeks straight. Young Raze currently working on his newest single for his newest album “The Mara Album 2. Young Raze is available on iTunes and Spotify and his music videos can be seen on YouTube. Young Raze is continuing to expand his brand and by doing so he is working on his own clothing line “SBA Nation Clothing”.
He also continued working on his acting career which landed him roles on popular television shows such as, Gotham on Fox, the SyFy series called “The Internet Ruined My Life”, and featured in a film with Dave Bautista “Bushwick”. He is currently working on a new single and is expected to have it for release later this year.
On October 10th, 2019 Young Raze got some news that his 14-year-old nephew passed away from Lymphoma Stage 4 Cancer. Anthony “Goldo” Penalo impacted his community with his charming smile and positive energy throughout his battle with cancer. His favorite super hero was Superman and the date he passed was the same day Christopher Reeves (The Original Superman) passed away as well. Not long after On Young Raze’s 30th birthday October 17th he had to put his nephew to rest and was buried in Montpelier, Idaho. On September 7th, 2021 Young Raze decided it was time to bring his talent to West Haven, Utah. This was shortly after his Jetski accident on July 6th of 2021 which almost took his and his girlfriend’s life. With the grace of god, Young Raze was able to swim to his girlfriend in the middle of Bear Lake not only to save her from drowning but saved his own life as well. That accident made me appreciate life so much more and never realize how beautiful Utah really was which made him and his girlfriend make that move out of New York City later that year.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Ever since we moved out to Utah, it’s been a little bit of a struggle just trying to adjust to the lifestyle out here. We came from a place where everything is fast pace and I am constantly moving around doing shows and interviews. After a few months, I started adapting to the changes.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a recording artist, actor, and content creator. I specialize in making music and creating content for my fans and viewers. I’m proud of how far I came with my music and how quickly I am growing as an artist.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I was a very shy person and once they heard my music they couldn’t believe it was me. I created my own sound that makes people gravitate towards me and my music.
